Job Overview:

Pay Range: $17.20hr - $22.00hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Basic understanding of computers with a preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing.
  • No experience required but previous laboratory experience preferred.
  • Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
  • Previous hospital laboratory experience is a plus but not required.
  • Previous experience in a production environment preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department.
  • Conduct data entry tasks with a requirement of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour.
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Adhere to core values, safety and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.
  • Exhibit flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
