Special Security Representative

First Coast Security Solutions provides security services nationwide. The Special Security Representative role (SSR) consists of three full-time, nonexempt positions. SSRs are responsible for supporting Special Security Officer (SSO) personnel by providing assistance in the areas of Physical, Information, and Personnel Security Programs. These positions specifically support Non-Guard Security Services at MARFORSOC Camp Lejeune, NC.

Pay Transparency: $23.95 $/hour + $4.93Health & Welfare (H&W)

Responsibilities

  • Implementing policies and procedures for the command’s Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) program, reviewing security clearance requests and special access requests, determining the necessary personnel security checks, and ensuring that security questionnaires are complete and accurate.
  • Duties include conducting SCI indoctrination briefings, creating SCI personnel security files, managing Defense Information System for Security (DISS) ownership, issuing badges, and assigning access. During checkout, SSRs conduct SCI debriefings, collect badges and contractor Common Access Cards (CACs), revoke accesses, and archive personnel security files.
  • SSRs support inbound and outbound visit requests by ensuring timely and accurate transmittal of clearance information as needed.
  • Responsibilities include marking and safeguarding documents, enforcing personnel access controls and need-to-know criteria, overseeing physical storage and control of information, providing security education, and managing the transmission, transfer, reproduction, downgrading, and destruction of information.
  • SSRs must be proficient in using a variety of office equipment such as copy machines, facsimile machines, networked computers, laser printers, shredders, scanners, and other electronic devices.
  • Performing other related duties as required.

Working Conditions

The position requires regular interaction with personnel and visitors. May occasionally require lifting up to 25 pounds. May require responding to time sensitive security needs.

Qualifications

  • United States citizen.
  • Must possess an active, final-adjudicated Secret security clearance.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote).
  • Familiarity with security-related references such as SECNAV 5510.30, SECNAV 5510.36, and DOD Manual 5200.01 Volumes 1-3.

Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a U.S. military service member at the E-5 level or higher performing physical security duties within the Department of Defense (DoD); or a Minimum of two (2) years of civilian experience performing physical security functions in support of the DoD
  • At least 1 year of experience working with security-related web-based applications (JPAS, DISS, e-QIP).
