What You'll Do

As a Field Service Technician, you will install, maintain, and repair Skytron sterile processing equipment at customer sites, ensuring reliable performance and outstanding service for our acute care partners. In this role, you will:

  • Install Skytron sterile processing equipment (sterilizers, ultrasonics, washers, and cart washers) according to manufacturer specifications
  • Inspect and test malfunctioning sterile processing equipment, using appropriate test and analysis instruments
  • Disassemble malfunctioning equipment, repairing or replacing defective components and electrical parts
  • Coordinate with site personnel and external contractors to verify project site readiness for equipment installations, including: facility utility requirements, product delivery, and safe movement of materials to the designated worksite
  • Maintain regular, timely communications with customers and key stakeholders regarding the status of installation projects, customer issues, and equipment issues
  • Perform remote service and diagnostics by phone, email, and video conferencing, to resolve external customer equipment issues; initiating escalation where appropriate
  • Maintain factory certification and proficiency on all servicing product lines
  • Generate revenue growth by offering solutions aligned with the service portfolio
  • Complete service-related administrative duties in a thorough and timely manner, including: service work orders, expense reports, preventative maintenance and installation documentation, site and service documentation, and other related paperwork
  • Travel up to 75 percent of the time

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone dependable, technically sharp, and comfortable working independently in the field. Success in this role requires strong communication, adaptability, and sound judgment under pressure. The ideal candidate will:

  • Capably handle required administrative functions
  • Verify work to ensure accurate results
  • Follow work instructions, procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies
  • Meet productivity standards, deadlines, and project schedules
  • Communicate effectively with various levels of employees and customers, both verbally and in writing
  • Be internally motivated and work well with minimal supervision
  • Be flexible in working hours, including mandatory overtime on short notice and/or weekends, as needed
  • Devise workable solutions or consult with secondary resources to devise solutions
  • Maintain a good driving record and valid driver's license
  • Be subject to background checks and credentialing

Qualifications

  • Have a HS Diploma or equivalent. An Associate's degree in fluid dynamics, electronics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an electronics-related field is strongly preferred
  • Have previous experience and demonstrated success executing projects with defined milestones
  • Be able to interpret schematics and site drawings, without assistance
  • Possess a working knowledge of hydraulic and AC/DC electrical systems, functions, and uses
  • Have previous mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting experience
  • Understand and apply pneumatic, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical theory to install, diagnose, and repair SPD equipment
  • Possess 3-5 years of experience working in a sterile processing environment, combined with prior technical work-related experience (Strongly Preferred)
  • Possess 3-5 years of experience installing and/or repairing HVAC systems (Strongly Preferred)
