Job description

The Sterile processing  Technologist assists the surgical team in multiple ways. The SPD Tech is responsible for the cleaning and sterilization of critical surgical and procedural instruments, preparing and maintaining supplies, equipment and instruments for cases, competency in sterile processing policies and procedures, compliance with HIPAA and other assigned duties. The SPD Tech must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Competing demands require someone who is able to appropriately prioritize tasks and demonstrate attention to detail. This person is required to demonstrate excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with teammates, physicians, ancillary staff, and patients. The Sterile Processing Technologist reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager and will cross-train to other functions as needed.

Required experience/skills/education:

High school diploma or GED required

Minimum of 2 years as Sterile Processing Technologist (Preferred)

Certification in Sterile Processing (Preferred)
