Active DoD Secret clearance
Job Description
The Systems Engineer 3 is responsible for technical planning, system integration, and end-to-end lifecycle support of complex systems. This role ensures the effective translation of customer requirements into complete system solutions while balancing technical performance, schedule, and cost constraints.
Responsibilities
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation (V&V), and risk and cost analysis
  • Support full system lifecycle activities including concept, design, fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
  • Translate customer and product requirements into comprehensive system solutions
  • Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, and trade studies
  • Perform requirements allocation and interface definition to develop hardware and software specifications
  • Ensure alignment of system design with technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders
  • Prepare and present technical documentation and reports

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related STEM field with 5+ years of experience, OR
  • Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, OR
  • PhD with 1+ year of experience
  • Experience in systems engineering and system lifecycle processes
  • Experience in system requirements development, management, and analysis
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), software design, or similar tools
  • Ability to comply with program security requirements
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain SAP clearance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Working knowledge of MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Sparx EA, or Enterprise Architect
  • Experience with military or spacecraft systems
  • Experience working on large, complex system development programs
  • Experience in requirements decomposition and management
  • Knowledge of system architecture, CONOPS, and MBSE methodologies
  • Experience with ICD, IRS, and IDD development and integration
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations to stakeholders
  • Experience in Agile Systems Engineering
  • Experience in Cost Account Management (CAM)
  • Knowledge of SysML or UPDM modeling languages
  • Familiarity with DoDAF, UAF, or other architecture frameworks
  • SysML certification or INCOSE/CSEP certification preferred
