A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)
Our Gas Service division is seeking a motivated Commercial Sales Manager to support our growth initiatives. This role involves supporting diverse sales operations, including the strategic development and negotiation of commercial and financial terms, as well as optimization of internal processes.
The position further requires close collaboration with the Sales Manager in managing an extensive stakeholder network. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong entrepreneurial skills and sound business judgment, actively contributing to solution identification and risk and opportunity management through an in-depth understanding of customers, markets, and contractual commitments.
How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
  • Define business models based on business, customer, and tax regulations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations of terms and conditions, coordinating with internal departments such as Legal, Finance, and Tax.
  • Handle all commercial aspects of the bid, including contract analysis, cost calculation, financing concepts, currency and hedging, risks and opportunities, bonds, terms of payment, credit rating, insurances, export control, and compliance.
  • Manage relationships with external project collaborators, such as customers and consortium partners, and participate in negotiations of terms and conditions in line with applicable guidelines.
  • Prepare and present the Limits of Authority (LoA) according to the required protocol, acting as a sparring partner for regions and bid team members, and ensuring correctness of relevant approvals in accordance with actual negotiations.
  • Apply a hands-on approach to manage the full scope of financial and commercial activities during the sales phase, while providing lessons learned to financially and contractually comparable projects.
What You Bring (requirements)
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration/ management, Finance, Accounting or equivalent professional experience
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in commercial finance roles, such as commercial project management or project controlling, with a strong understanding of project financing and accounting principles.
  • Analytical thinking, result and quality-oriented approach, solid professional judgment and problem-solving ability are required competencies
  • Ability to conceptualize & socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and IFRS, SAP knowledge, Microsoft Office, as well as strong analytical skills
  • Capacity to work effectively under time pressure and manage a heavy workload.
  • Experience and curiosity about leveraging Artificial Intelligence to address business needs is considered a plus
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
