ROLE SUMMARY

The Market Development Manager, known as a Camponero, is a fully field-based commercial role responsible for managing and strategically growing Vinarchyโ€™s business across the Downtown San Diego territory.

Working closely with distributor partners, key customers and cross-functional Vinarchy teams, the Camponero will deliver revenue, distribution, display and by-the-glass objectives through influential leadership and best-in-class market execution. As one of Vinarchyโ€™s Camponerosโ€”our friends in marketโ€”this role will build trusted relationships, champion our brands and create strong connections across the trade.

The Camponero will lead day-to-day execution across the assigned territory, driving an outsized Vinarchy brand presence in both On- and Off-Premise channels. This position requires 100% in-market presence and regular engagement with distributor teams, key accounts and brand activation activity.

  • Drive Vinarchy brand presence across On- and Off-Premise channels by delivering Pictures of Success (PICOS) through placements, by-the-glass wins, features, promotions, distribution, displays and shelf execution.
  • Conduct hand-sales and samplings within the assigned account list.
  • Communicate and follow up with distributor sales consultants to ensure each sale is executed through completion.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers within the assigned account list and ensure effective execution.
  • Execute approved brand investment plans and provide feedback on ROI to The Hive Regional Director & Trade Marketing Manager and Vinarchyโ€™s Regional General Sales Manager.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Brand, Trade Marketing, Finance and other cross-functional partners to identify marketplace opportunities and execute best-in-class market activation.
  • Use performance data, competitive activity and market feedback to identify opportunities, improve execution and support commercial growth.
  • Remain current with federal, state and local laws and regulations and ensure all sales activities are compliant.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three or more years of related experience in the spirits/wine supplier industry or other consumer goods companies.
  • Stakeholder-management experience with the ability to influence and develop strong partnerships across the business.
  • Thorough knowledge of distribution, promotion and selling techniques, with a strong bias for action.
  • Experience working with a distributor is beneficial.
  • Exceptional planning, organization and self-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Budget development and management experience.
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully field-based environment.
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to travel intermittently as required across the assigned market.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, carry or pull up to 45 pounds.
