Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for optimizing inventory efficiency and operational flow within the distribution center by leading replenishment, waving, and inventory slotting strategies. This role partners cross-functionally with Operations, Planning, and Systems teams to develop and execute demand planning processes and capacity plans that support service-level commitments and operational performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of inventory slotting strategies to optimize pick paths, reduce travel time, and enhance order fulfillment productivity
  • Monitor slotting effectiveness and proactively adjust strategies based on seasonality, promotions, and demand variability
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain demand planning processes, ensuring consistency and scalability across systems and workflows
  • Ensure work release aligns with order cutoffs, carrier schedules, and service-level agreements (SLAs)
  • Optimize wave planning, including sizing and sequencing, to minimize congestion, improve throughput, and support operational stability
  • Leverage statistical models and system tools to generate accurate demand forecasts and space utilization plans
  • Conduct forecasting analyses to ensure methodologies are robust, data-driven, and continuously improved
  • Design and produce weekly and monthly forecast and performance reports to inform decision-making
  • Adjust forecast and capacity models in response to demand shifts, business changes, and market trends
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive alignment on planning assumptions and continuous process improvements
  • Own the site-level replenishment strategy to ensure forward pick locations are consistently stocked and operationally ready
  • Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including replenishment accuracy, pick productivity, slotting efficiency, inventory availability, and wave execution adherence
  • Utilize data analysis and root cause investigation to identify inefficiencies and implement process and system enhancements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Mathematics, Business, Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Profound knowledge of the Logistic demand planning process.
  • Strong knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain issues.
  • Possess strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Communication and team building skills
  • Detail orientated with extreme accuracy
  • Ability to perform spreadsheet analysis
  • Collaborative skills in resolving long and short positions in warehouse space and inventory.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting item weighing up to 15 pounds.
