GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

To ensure that all aspects of food and beverage operations (Tip Top pies, walk-up wine bars, Loupe lounge, The Bar at Chihuly Garden and Glass, IMAX at the Center, and events) maximize revenue potential in a cost-efficient environment with a continuous focus on exceeding the expectations of every guest. Ensures delivery of brand promises while meeting guest, and owner expectations.  


This position supports the Space Needle LLC and Center Art LLC's organization by exhibiting the following behaviors: integrity, discretion, professionalism, leadership, humility, respect, accountability, and team building. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for operations of Restaurants and Lounges at Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass. 
  • Collaborate and assist with Event department to ensure company standards are consistently met for all events at Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass. 
  • Is part of a team of Managers and Team Members (represented and non-represented) that achieves department vision and goals. 
  • Maintain quality assurance standards for service and all F&B products.  
  • Manage staffing levels to guarantee quality in product, service, and presentation, while maximizing revenue growth.  
  • Promote a safe, healthy work environment for all Food and Beverage staff members. 
  • Maintain and use knowledge of cost controls. 
  • Apply public relations skills to ensure guest satisfaction. 
  • Enforce company standards as well as OSHA and WISHA requirements for restaurants, lounges, and cafes. 
  • Use knowledge of Fair Labor Practices to effectively manage Team Members. 
  • Provide continuous feedback to the Director of Food and Beverage regarding any related challenges or opportunities. 
  • Meet with service and culinary teams to review guest comments and/or complaints in order to provide continuous improvement and problem resolution for related issues. 
  • Ensure consistent administration of Labor contracts including seniority, scheduling, shift assignments, performance management, grievance process, and all other aspects of managing a represented workforce. 
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule in order to provide onsite leadership during key events and extended hours of operation. This may include working holidays, nights, and weekends 
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management. 


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the division to ensure the company maintains a vision of growth in the food and beverage department. 
  • Utilize knowledge of budgeting. 
  • Create and implement new and memorable beverage lists that align with each space.  
  • Collaborate with Culinary team to ensure vision alignment and compelling offerings. 
  • Establish and use computer skills relative to Word, Excel, Guest Bridge and Micros system.  


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time. 
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in high volume food and beverage operation with accountability for financial reporting in the areas of food, beverage and service. 
  • Significant wine and mixology knowledge. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Computer literacy with Word for Windows and Excel. 
  • Proven ability to motivate, teach, and lead a team. 
  • Always remains professional and work well with others 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. 
  • Able to lift 40 pounds with or without accommodation.

Full Time, Seasonal, Hourly Position

Hourly Rate: $25.30 - $28.00 / hour DOE

  • Paid Time Off of 14 days / year based on working 2080 hours / year 
  • Tuition reimbursement of 50%, up to $2500 / year

  • $165 / month towards parking / orca card
