Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The incumbent provides professional services for the Division of Real Estate Development and Management by serving as a CAD Space Planner.ย  This position requires an individual who can work independently, efficiently, and consistently represent DMS in meetings in a professional manner. Verify, document and analyze square footage through the use of AutoCAD and Excel Spreadsheets as well as via physical measurement of constructed spaces and sites. Able to travel long distances and stand for long periods of time (bending etc. for field measuring). Organize, maintain and update CAD files of buildings as renovations occur. Establish space standards and produce documents for CAD standards for leases, to be used by Agencies, Vendors and Contractors. Work alongside the leasing team to plan, track, and monitor occupancy requirements, and recommend space allocation for Agencies and DMS. Work with Agencies, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and DMS staff to assess needs and develop and execute migration and phasing plans for relocation and sequencing based on the physical space requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum of (1) year of experience using AutoCAD (2020) or higher
Willingness to attain an active AutoCAD Certified Professional from AutoDesk, if not already certified.
Experience using Excel Spreadsheets with a basic understanding of formulas.
Knowledge of construction practices, regulations and laws in the state of Florida
Possess good working knowledge within AutoCAD as it relates to buildings and site plans.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task with respect to projects, emails, and meetings on a daily basis.
Ability to follow DMS CAD standards and apply the standards to all projects
Willingness to assume increased responsibilities when presented, as well as the willingness to work overtime when needed.
Ability to work as a team player and interact well with others.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Skilled in creative problem solving, analyzing information, and providing excellent customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Class E Driver's License
Have the ability to travel long distances.ย  Travel is less than 25%.
Standing, sitting, bending for long periods of time.
Minimum of (1) year experience using AutoCADย  2020 or higher.
Knowledge of construction practices, regulations and laws in the state of Florida.
Possess good working knowledge within CAD drawings as related to a variety of issues found within commercial buildings and sites.
Incumbent must be willing to apply for licensure with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation within 3 years of hiring date to become a Registered Architect or Licensed Interior Designer in accordance with Chapter 481, Florida Statutes and requirements of the D.B.P.R.

Preferred Experience:

Bachelor's degree in architecture, Building Technology or Interior Design
3 or more years' experience using AutoCAD 2020 or higher
Holds an active AutoCAD certification from AutoDesk
