SUMMARY
The Spa Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day operation of The Sanctuary Spa. This role owns the member and guest experience while leading the team, managing operations and labor, supporting revenue growth, maintaining service standards, and ensuring the spa operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Bluejack standards.
The Spa Manager partners closely with the Corporate Director of Wellness and other Club leaders to develop and execute strategies that enhance the member experience and maximize the performance of The Sanctuary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Operations
  • Own the day-to-day operation of The Sanctuary, ensuring exceptional service, operational efficiency, cleanliness, safety, and adherence to Bluejack standards.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the Corporate Director of Wellness and other designated leadership.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for service, performance, productivity, and member experience.
  • Develop and maintain effective SOPs, service standards, and operating procedures.
  • Evaluate business levels and adjust staffing and resources to meet member and guest demand.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement solutions that improve service, efficiency, and financial performance.

Member Experience & Revenue
  • Own the overall member and guest experience within The Sanctuary and ensure service is personalized, professional, and consistent with Bluejack standards.
  • Build relationships with members and guests, respond to concerns, and use feedback to improve the experience.
  • Partner with the Corporate Director of Wellness to grow spa revenue, utilization, retail sales, service provider productivity, and member participation.
  • Execute approved promotions, wellness programs, events, and retail initiatives.
  • Maintain strong product and service knowledge and ensure the team is equipped to effectively promote spa offerings.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Membership, Fitness, F&B, and other departments to maximize participation and create a seamless Club experience.

People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, develop, and hold Spa Attendants, Service Providers, and other assigned team members accountable to performance and service expectations.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, certification, performance management, and employee development.
  • Maintain training programs focused on service standards, product knowledge, safety, and member experience.
  • Identify development opportunities and support employee growth and succession.
  • Partner with the Corporate Director of Wellness and Human Resources on staffing and employee relations matters.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, empowerment, and continuous improvement.

Financial, Inventory & Labor Management
  • Assist with departmental budgeting and monitor revenue, expenses, labor, supplies, and other operating costs.
  • Manage staffing and scheduling based on business levels, appointments, events, and member demand.
  • Monitor labor utilization and make adjustments to support both the member experience and financial performance.
  • Oversee retail and operational inventory, including monthly supply counts and quarterly retail counts.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and submit purchasing recommendations.
  • Monitor retail performance, inventory movement, and opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Review departmental performance metrics and communicate results, challenges, and recommendations to the Corporate Director of Wellness.

Facilities, Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, presentation, and operational readiness of The Sanctuary, fitness center, movement studio, pool, and related areas.
  • Ensure equipment is safe, clean, and properly maintained.
  • Coordinate with Facilities and vendors regarding repairs, maintenance, and equipment needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, sanitation, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Immediately address and appropriately escalate safety hazards, maintenance concerns, incidents, and other operational risks.

Events & Special Projects
  • Lead the planning and execution of approved spa events, member activations, promotions, and wellness experiences.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure successful execution.
  • Recommend new services, programs, partnerships, and initiatives that enhance the member experience and support business growth.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects from planning through completion.

Leadership & Communication
  • Serve as a visible and engaged leader within The Sanctuary and across the Bluejack property.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and communicate priorities, member feedback, operational updates, and performance expectations.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Corporate Director of Wellness regarding staffing, performance, member feedback, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, take ownership of decisions within the scope of the role, and proactively escalate matters requiring additional leadership.
  • Champion Bluejack's mission, cultural beliefs, and commitment to exceptional member experiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in spa, wellness, hospitality, resort, private club, or related operations, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong understanding of spa and wellness operations, retail, member experience, and hospitality standards.
  • Business acumen with an understanding of revenue, labor, inventory, and operating expenses.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, scheduling platforms, POS systems, and spa management software.
  • Ability to learn and promote all spa, wellness, fitness, and Bluejack National offerings.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Bluejack's cultural beliefs and mission.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak Club periods.

EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Recreation Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
โ€ข Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with spa, fitness, pool, and facility operations.
โ€ข Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
โ€ข Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
โ€ข Ability to safely operate a golf cart as needed to travel throughout the property.
โ€ข Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak Club periods.
