SPA has an immediate need for a Senior Assistant Test Event Manager. This position will provide Test Engineering support for an Army Project Office at Redstone Arsenal. This role functions within the Project Office's Test Directorate in direct support of the Government Test Team and will work with government civilians, military personnel, and contractors. The Test Engineer will play a critical role in test execution and test documentation, to include developing test plans, designing test procedures, executing tests, and maintaining thorough documentation in accordance with applicable government standards. Candidate must be professional, self-motivated, and possess good communication and team working skills to participate in multiple test support activities with team member Subject Matter Experts.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Plan and execute tests for a complex and advanced Air and Missile Defense system for the US Army.
  • Participate in Test activities including SIL, HWIL, Distributed Ground Testing, System Qualification Testing, and Field Testing with a team consisting of personnel from multiple projects, agencies, and labs.
  • Generate pre-test documentation to include test plans, test requirements, test procedures, and test case matrices, as well as post-test support to include providing EXSUMs for major test activities, resolution of test incident reports, and generation of post-test reports.
  • Organize and participate in weekly Test Planning meetings; prepare test presentations.
  • Support major meetings with Program Stakeholders such as T&E WIPTs.
  • Travel to DOD Test Ranges to support various test operations and missions.
  • Support status reporting efforts: team weekly activities reports, weekly SITREPs to management, test calendar updates, asset status.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 15+ years
  • 10+ years Test engineering experience with focus on defense systems and government-related projects.
  • This work will occur as part of a Test Execution Team; therefore, the candidate must be able to work in a high-paced team environment consisting of government and prime contractor personnel from multiple projects, agencies, and labs including external agency stakeholders such as ATEC, MDA, and OSD
  • Familiarity with current DoD Test regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Able to prioritize requirements and adjudicate resources based on customer and mission need
  • Must possess and maintain a US Secret security clearance
