Job description

At The Joseph, we believe exceptional hospitality is found in the details—the thoughtful interactions, personalized experiences, and genuine care that leave a lasting impression. We are seeking an experienced and service-driven Spa Supervisor to join our Spa team and help deliver an elevated wellness experience reflective of our luxury standards.

Reporting directly to the Spa Director, the Spa Supervisor is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Spa while serving as a resource and role model for the Spa team. This position combines supervisory responsibilities with direct guest interaction, with approximately 70% of the role dedicated to Spa Concierge responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

As Spa Supervisor, you will:

  • Support the Spa Director with the overall day-to-day operation of the Spa.
  • Lead by example in delivering warm, personalized, and anticipatory luxury service.
  • Manage spa bookings, appointments, modifications, and guest requests.
  • Answer incoming calls and provide knowledgeable, professional assistance regarding spa services, treatments, amenities, and availability.
  • Utilize the Book4Time spa reservation platform to effectively manage appointments and guest information.
  • Welcome guests and provide an exceptional experience throughout their Spa journey.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and assist with service recovery, resolving concerns thoughtfully, professionally, and with appropriate urgency.
  • Support the Spa Concierge/front desk operation, including check-in, check-out, appointment coordination, and daily administrative needs.
  • Assist with team scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage based on business and operational needs.
  • Support inventory management, product organization, and assist with scheduling.
  • Promote Spa retail products and services through genuine product knowledge and personalized recommendations.
  • Help maintain Spa presentation, cleanliness, organization, and readiness according to luxury and Forbes service standards.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and operational support to Spa team members.
  • Communicate effectively with Spa leadership and other hotel departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures and other daily Spa operational responsibilities as needed.
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous Spa experience, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, or high-end spa environment.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience with or strong working knowledge of Book4Time.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Forbes Travel Guide service standards and luxury hospitality expectations.
  • Experience with inventory management and retail operations.
  • Previous experience creating or managing team schedules.
  • Exceptional guest service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence handling guest concerns and service recovery situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative leadership style and willingness to be hands-on in daily operations.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, wellness, and creating memorable guest experiences.
The Opportunity

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being both a leader and an active part of the guest experience. While the Spa Supervisor will support leadership, scheduling, inventory, retail, and operational responsibilities, approximately 70% of the position will involve Spa Concierge duties, including managing appointments, answering phones, communicating with guests, supporting service recovery, and assisting with the daily needs of the Spa front desk.

At The Joseph, we look for individuals who take pride in their craft, care deeply about the guest experience, and understand that luxury service is not simply about meeting expectations—it is about anticipating needs and creating moments that feel personal, effortless, and memorable.

As part of the Makeready collection, we proudly offer a variety of thoughtful benefits and perks for eligible team members including accommodating PTO/PTO exchange, medical/dental/vision benefits, maternity/paternity leave, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care & 401k, student loan repayment program and a wide range of additional ancillary benefits. The health, happiness and well-being of our team is our top priority.

We are an equal opportunity workplace and employer that does not discriminate based on race, color, disability, gender/sex, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age, veteran status, or any other protected status. We are committed to building a team and a workplace where we are all able to be successful based solely on our individual qualifications, experience, abilities and job performance.
