About the Sorrel Ranch Garden

Sorrel River Ranch maintains a 175-acre organic garden and farm that supplies fresh, seasonal produce to our restaurant and mercantile. Rooted in permaculture principles, we focus on soil health, organic inputs, and sustainable growing practices. The garden also serves as a gathering space for guest activities and community engagement.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for someone eager to deepen their knowledge of permaculture, composting methods, irrigation systems, plant identification, organic standards, and daily farm operations. Our garden team works outdoors year-round, surrounded by Moab's iconic red cliffs. We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learns continuously, and thrives in a collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Routine plant and greenhouse care
  • Irrigation setup, maintenance, and repair
  • Compost building and soil-health practices
  • Weeding, watering, and general garden upkeep
  • Food production and orchard maintenance
  • Engaging with resort guests to enhance their experience
Skills & Abilities
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Work independently and as part of a team

Education & Experience
