What We Offer
Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute is looking for a Surgical Technologist!
  • Location: 1625 Hospital Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464
  • Status: Full Time
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-4pm. No weekends, holidays, or call!

The Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute is a world-class specialty center offering the best in spine health expertise, technology, and procedures, including orthopedic spine surgery, neurosurgery, pain management, and physical medicine/rehabilitation. Our facility includes a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center, committed to providing a compassionate, quality-focused patient experience.
What You'll Do
  • Prepare the operating room, ensuring equipment and sterile supplies are available.
  • Sterilize, assemble, and check equipment
  • Review surgeon preferences to prepare specialized trays.
  • Wash and disinfect incision sites.
  • Position the patient on the operating table
  • Clean and transport instruments for terminal sterilization.
  • Assist with cleaning and turning over the operating room for the next patient.
  • Restock the operating room with necessary supplies.

    • Education
      • Education Level Required/Preferred Description
      • High School or GED Required Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D - Operating Room Specialist).
      • For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
    • Experience
      • Years of Experience Required/Preferred Description
      • Preferred Previous Surgical Technologist experience.
    • Current Surgical Tech Certification Preferred
      • Current Surgical Tech Certification - based on state specific regulations (South Carolina Region Only) Required
    • For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have
      certification the following additional requirements apply: new graduates must obtain certification
      within 12months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill
      validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills,
      verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time
      management skills.
    • One to two years of experience in sterile processing or equivalent training if assigned solely to
      sterile processing.
