About the Role
Matter Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Regional Medical Director to provide physician leadership across our Southeast markets. This role will partner closely with operational and clinical leaders to support care delivery, provider performance, quality initiatives, and continued market growth.
Our physicians care for older adults living in affordable housing communitiesโmany of whom face significant barriers to accessing healthcare. The ideal candidate is a missionโdriven physician leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for underserved populations while supporting providers and clinical teams across multiple markets.
The Regional Medical Director will serve as a key clinical leader responsible for ensuring highโquality care delivery while helping drive clinical strategy, provider engagement, operational excellence, and patient outcomes.
This is a highly collaborative role for a physician leader who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and supporting healthcare innovation in communityโbased environments.
What You'll Do
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight across assigned Southeast markets
- Partner closely with Operations, Clinical, and Executive leadership teams to support growth initiatives and strategic objectives
- Support physician and advanced practice provider performance, mentorship, and development
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure delivery of highโquality patient care
- Assist in developing and standardizing clinical workflows, protocols, and best practices
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with crossโfunctional teams to improve patient outcomes and operational effectiveness
- Support provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts
- Participate in clinical program development and implementation efforts
- Serve as a clinical ambassador and leader within Matter Health communities
What Weโre Looking For
- Active MD or DO license
- Board certification required
- 5+ years of physician leadership experience preferred
- Experience leading providers or multiโsite healthcare operations strongly preferred
- Experience within valueโbased care, population health, primary care, or communityโbased healthcare environments preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationshipโbuilding skills
- Demonstrated experience driving operational improvements and clinical initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to lead through growth, change, and organizational expansion
- Ability to travel throughout Tennessee and the Southeast region as needed (approximately 25โ40%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Multiโmarket or regional leadership experience
- Experience supporting underserved or senior populations
- Medicare Advantage or valueโbased care experience
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Passion for serving vulnerable, underserved, or aging populations
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across clinical and operational teams

- Support and develop physicians and advanced practice providers across assigned markets
- Improve quality, patient outcomes, and provider engagement
