Job description


  • Lead strategic sourcing activities for complex small and medium initiatives across Regional Health Ministries

  • Conduct competitive sourcing and negotiation processes for direct and indirect supplies, services, and equipment

  • Manage simultaneous RFP/RFQ processes and complex, high-value contract negotiations

  • Analyze supplier responses and product, service, and equipment information

  • Perform cost-benefit, total-cost-of-ownership, economic-value-to-customer, and net-present-value analyses

  • Develop reports, presentations, sourcing justifications, pricing rationales, and recommendations

  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain optimal prices, terms, and conditions while protecting quality and patient safety

  • Support contracting and value validation through financial analysis, reporting, and data measurement

  • Review contract drafts and redlines and coordinate with Legal on contract issues

  • Maintain knowledge of and optimize Group Purchasing Organization and Trinity contract portfolios

  • Analyze markets, supplier options, product/service availability, and supplier capabilities

  • Compare total cost of ownership and recommend vendors to sourcing advisory teams and internal business owners

  • Prepare fact-based negotiations and contract-award recommendations

  • Coordinate business reviews and documented sign-off with Legal, Risk Management, IT, Finance, and other stakeholders

  • Share research and market information with stakeholders

  • Prepare communications for providers, stakeholders, management, and internal and external customers

  • Partner with Finance to validate forecasted savings

  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and Trinity Healthโ€™s Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct


Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, finance or clinical discipline AND 5 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Appropriate technical certification such as CQM, CPM, or CPIM desirable

  • Comprehensive knowledge of data analysis, purchasing practice, pricing structure, products and services, vendor relationships, and market analysis

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Operations and technical problem-solving concepts and techniques

  • Ability to prepare specifications for RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs

  • Strong analytical skills, including complex TCO, EVC, and NPV analyses

  • Ability to perform cost-benefit analysis and prepare concise reports, charts, and graphs

  • Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills required

  • Knowledge of an ERP application preferred

  • Knowledge of contract law and governing regulations

  • Ability to review and renegotiate supplier contracts and develop supplier process-improvement initiatives

  • Ability to understand customer and stakeholder businesses at financial, operational, and business-impact levels

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Prioritization, coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to meet strategic sourcing project goals and timelines

  • Ability to establish productive relationships with stakeholders and external suppliers

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work effectively in a large, multi-level, geographically dispersed organization

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and generic web applications

  • Ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures

  • Ability to travel to various Trinity Health sites as needed (20%)
