Job description

Clydesdale Logistics LLC, a family-owned, relationship-focused third-party logistics company based in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking an experienced Freight Broker Agent to join our in-house team. This role offers the opportunity to maintain ownership of your existing customer relationships while leveraging our strong operational support, premium technology, and extensive carrier resources. As part of our small, collaborative office environment, you will help provide tailored freight solutions including FTL, LTL, drayage, flatbed, heavy haul, specialized, reefer, and expedited transportation services.

Compensation and Book-of-Business Protection

  • Earn up to 75% commission on net profit from your book of business, paid weekly
  • Commission percentage based on the size, profitability, consistency, and quality of transitioned accounts
  • No non-compete or non-solicitation agreement required for customers you bring
  • Additional compensation opportunities for new business developed after joining

Responsibilities

  • Transition, manage, and grow your existing book of business
  • Build long-term relationships with customers and identify additional freight opportunities
  • Quote freight and provide competitive transportation solutions
  • Source, negotiate with, and book qualified carriers
  • Coordinate shipments from pickup through delivery
  • Provide proactive communication and updates to customers and carriers
  • Resolve service issues quickly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate customer, shipment, pricing, and carrier information
  • Review rate confirmations, PODs, carrier invoices, and shipment documentation
  • Collaborate with operations, accounting, and leadership teams
  • Maintain profitable margins while delivering a high level of customer service

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of freight brokerage experience
  • An active and verifiable book of business
  • Established relationships with multiple shipping customers
  • Ability to legally transition the customer accounts represented
  • Strong understanding of freight pricing, carrier sourcing, negotiation, and load management
  • Experience with one or more of the following: FTL, LTL, drayage, flatbed, heavy haul, specialized, reefer, or expedited freight
  • Strong communication, sales, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to an in-office team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, phone-heavy environment
  • Must be available to work full-time from our Sarasota, Florida office
