Material Handling and Logistics Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, accountable, and solution-driven Material Handling Logistics Manager to oversee our warehouse and logistics operations. Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including inventory management, sorting, order fulfillment and shipping.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular audits and reconciliation.
  • Develop and implement procedures for efficient order fulfillment and shipping accuracy.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with vendors, carriers, and customers.
  • Monitor performance metrics such as order accuracy, shipping on-time, and inventory turnover.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise warehouse, shipping and sorting staff, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movement and generate counts.
  • Continuously improve workflow efficiency and cost-effectiveness through process optimization.
  • Develop, implement, and modify safety and security protocols for all staff, including conducting after-action reviews following incidents.
  • Analyze work orders, invoices, and demand forecasts daily to estimate shipping, storage, and delivery requirements; use this information to suggest employee schedules and resource allocation.
  • Manage relationships with customers by answering questions, providing shipping updates, and handling complaints.
  • Utilize shipping software (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and eCommerce integration tools to track shipment status across various platforms.
  • Optimize customs processes to ensure HTS code assignments, duties, and border clearances are properly applied to all international shipments.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics of medical device repair services from various location across Michigan.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


Job Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience inventory, warehouse, or logistics management with both domestic and international shipping experience.
  • Proficiency with shipping software (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and customs handling for international shipments.
  • Strong understanding of shipping procedures, warehouse safety, and inventory control systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to implement innovative solutions.
  • Forklift certification (preferred).
