Job Summary

The Production Supervisor, Sorting is responsible for overseeing the sorting operations across all shifts to ensure production goals and quality standards are met. This role involves coordinating with sorting team members, managing production schedules, conducting quality checks, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. The Production Supervisor, Sorting will also drive process improvements and assist with training and development of team members in the sorting area.

  • Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

  • Pay: $60,000 - $70,000 Salary

What You'll Do as a Sorting Production Supervisor
  • Oversee daily operations of the sorting team to ensure efficient workflow and meet production goals

  • Provide direction, training, and support to sorting team members

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to new employees and ongoing support to existing team members to enhance skills and performance

  • Ensure all parts meet quality standards by performing regular inspections and guiding team members in quality checks

  • Monitor the output and performance of the assigned production area(s), ensuring targets are met for quantity, quality, and efficiency

  • Identify and address any defects or non-conformance issues promptly

  • Collaborate with Quality Control and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions

  • Assist with optimize processes to minimize downtime, reduce scrap, and improve efficiency

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the sorting department

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practices

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality policies, maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment

  • Enforce adherence to 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to promote a clean, organized, and efficient work environment

  • Collaborate with quality manager to improve sorting methods and workflow efficiency

  • Identify and propose improvements in machinery, materials, and production techniques

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What You'll BringRequired Education/Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or sorting environment, with at least 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory role

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Prolonged standing, bending, and walking for extended periods of time
