Maintenance Supervisor
Department: Maintenance
Location: Spring Hill, TN
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring machinery is operational through utilization and oversight of personnel in the maintenance department as well as the Prinova facilities and grounds. The manager shall support internal / external engineering team(s) including new construction, equipment sourcing / install, facility & grounds improvements, new or revised regulatory requirements (state, federal and industry) and process engineering. Further, this role will work closely with all other Prinova departments, including Production, Sanitation, Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Warehousing, Shipping & Receiving and all other Admin Depts.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Effectively utilize Prinova's CMMS program (eMaint) to monitor equipment conditions through scheduled PM 's, inspect areas, equipment, and overall equipment and tooling conditions to ensure compliance with internal SOP's, cGMP's and overall equipment efficiency.
  • Ensure programs, policies and procedures meet State and OSHA requirements;
  • Maintain and update the CMMS to reflect changes in equipment design, new equipment repairs, changeovers, etc. in primary and secondary packaging;
  • Using the CMMS programs, identify equipment reliability trends MTTR (mean time to repair), MTBR (mean time between failure), PMC (preventative maintenance compliance), and all other related measurements. Audit data for accuracy and ROI on repairs and uptime;
  • This role shall be an immediate value through troubleshooting, rebuilding, teardown, fabricating and delegating the talent to promote and support equipment(s) and facility uptime;
  • Manage all personnel labor hours and schedules to meet or exceed labor budgets. Set work schedules efficiently while maintaining quality and safety to reduce unplanned and unnecessary downtime. Audit and modify scheduled to increase effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Schedule and promote training activities for Prinova's maintenance team. Internal, external and cross-functional training events shall bring value to the team or equipment / facility;
  • Focus efforts on continuous improvement programs around the facility to improve maintenance standards in a safe & efficient manner. Audit all completed improvements;
  • Lead efforts to identify and implement metrics of success as it relates to maintenance practices and provide solutions to upper management;
  • Manage good relationships when negotiating contracts, agreements and or purchases. Audit these events to track and ensure Prinova receives all available incentives and the best ROI available;
  • Organizes work for smooth operations, which includes maintaining clean and orderly work areas. Focus on housekeeping of all work zones for safety and 5S sustainability, Monitor and Audit - correct and recognize efforts accordingly;
  • Work with the engineering team to source equipment for capital expenditure improvement;
  • Specifies and recommends equipment purchases to improve operations, i.e. reduce costs, improve quality, reduce lead times, etc.;
  • Must have a collaborative management style with the willingness to promote a team environment;
  • Follow and enforce cGMP guidelines and processes established in company & departmental SOPs;
  • All other duties as assigned and needed to manage maintenance operations.

Requirements and Skills
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience;
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in electrical pneumatics and maintenance;
  • Strong knowledge in safety compliance (state, federal and industry) along with the ability to train and be accountable for departments requirements to follow and support these actions;
  • Ability to provide coaching, leadership and direction to others;
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Proficiency using CMMS, MP2, MS Windows and Office particularly Excel;
  • Basic foundational understanding of cGMP practices and maintaining SOP's;
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organization while demonstrating professionalism and diplomacy;
  • Ability to make strategic recommendations and take appropriate action;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
  • Frequently lift, twist, stand, reach and crawl;
  • Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.;
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time;
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time;
  • Must be able to wear any required safety & PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and mask;
  • Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator;
  • Ability to work above shoulders;
  • Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, twisting, and bi-lateral wrist movement;
  • Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas;
  • Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection may be required;
  • Work environment is partially in an office setting. Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment;
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
