Job description

Job Title

This position will report into the Foundational Capabilities Team in the Engineering Services Department, under the Digital Engineering Solutions Directorate - Digital Technology.

The Foundation Capabilities team is responsible for providing foundational support for Digital Operations Engineering/Ops and Directorate Operational requirements.

The contributor will be responsible for providing IT solutions for application license service operations, configurations, sustainment, application utilization monitoring, upgrades, support tool integrations, and compliance/security approvals.

Responsibilities also include tool application support in the areas of demand and incident management, SW deployment, problem resolution, integration, automation and customization, license management, and computing Infrastructure / server configuration support.

This individual will work closely across IT Discipline Functions and Infrastructure services personnel to support and prioritize license services application road maps and upgrade schedules for supported tools.

The selected individual should be a self-starter with capabilities to identify, plan and support requirements to continuously simplify and improve the supported SW applications services environments.

What You Will Do
  • License Monitor server certificate management
  • Document Licenses Services standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Develop/maintain SOP for license installation and management is to be conducted (includes documentation)
  • Manage the Cyber Security ATO (Approval to Operate) and CLARA process.
  • Manage license server vulnerability remediation process
  • Manage license server compliance and upgrade updates
  • Develop/Support and update training material associated with License Services tasks.
  • Governance and long-term planning of License Services
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Server administration experience in both Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience with scripting languages, including PowerShell and Bash
  • Experience supporting software installations and updates
  • Experience troubleshooting network or server connection issues
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience implementing and deploying new SW tools and processes
  • Engineering tools administrative and technical support experience
  • Working knowledge of COTS SW Engineering and Operations Applications
  • Experience Programming and SW automation
  • Demonstrated experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Familiarity with automation or monitoring tools (Splunk, Power BI)
  • Background in Aerospace & Defense or secure computing environments
  • Interest in improving processes and simplifying workflows
  • Basic understanding of data validation or data quality checks
  • Comfort working in secure or restricted computing environments
  • Hands-on experience with Engineering License Managers and License Management Tools
  • Experience working in Agile environments, particularly using SAFe Agile methodologies
  • Basic understanding of license servers or engineering tool environments
  • Experience working with log files or usage data
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best‑practices for servers or applications
  • Comfortable working with ticketing or incident‑management systems (ServiceNow)
  • Ability to learn new tools and workflows quickly
  • Strong organizational and task‑tracking skills
  • Capable of working with multi-discipline teams as well as individually
  • Demonstrated experience in technical environments within Information Technology, Engineering, or Operational Technology fields.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
