The Media Solution Group of Sony Electronics currently has an opening for a Senior Field Service Engineer. This Senior Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. In this role the Engineer has a should have an understanding of the production process to identify how the product/equipment may have failed and will rectify as appropriate. The Field Service Engineer is provided with moderate supervision on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. This individual will also perform product testing on-site and may be responsible for technical repairs. Additional responsibilities include the development of close working relationships with customers to provide regular technical support and operation and maintenance of the system. The Senior Field Service Engineer will serve as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned tasks. The Engineer will also work closely with both external and internal customers, including engineering, sales, and marketing.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or science field is required or equivalent

  • Must have 4 years of related engineering experience

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications

  • The flexibility is required for extensive travel domestic and/or International

  • Available to work overtime and weekends when required

  • Excellent relationship building skills, customer complaint resolution, and record-keeping are essential

  • Strong troubleshooting, technical and customer service skills are required

  • Must be able to travel 50-60% of the time

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $87,831to $117,109.The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for an annual corporate bonus plan, which is based on company performance and is not guaranteed, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave.
