Position description
 
By joining Sonar, you will play a crucial role in enhancing SonarQube Cloud and SonarQube Server. You will provide teams and developers around the world with an exceptional experience, empowering them to develop better software.

As part of the role, you will join an on-call rotation, ensuring that critical system issues are promptly addressed, thereby minimizing downtime and maintaining a seamless experience for our users.
What you will do
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and UX designers to specify and design new features.

  • Participate in sprints with your team to deliver new features with a focus on the end user.

  • Maintain and enhance existing features, incorporating feedback from colleagues and the community.

  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.

  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide meaningful feedback to peers.

  • Contribute to the team's growth by improving tools and processes and by mentoring other engineers.

  • Engage with the community on product forums to offer support and gather insights.

  • Help solve production problems related to the team’s features.

Experience and qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Front End Software Engineer.

  • Excellent engineering skills and a good understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.

  • TypeScript Development: Demonstrated expertise in TypeScript, including a good understanding of its ecosystem and tooling.

  • Modern Front-End Frameworks: Proficiency with React (preferred) or other modern front-end frameworks, ensuring efficient and scalable user interfaces.

  • Leadership: you’re able to take initiative and bring a subject to completion with little to no supervision. You have experience supporting and mentoring other team members.

  • Source Code Quality: Commitment to high-quality code through comprehensive unit and integration tests and end-to-end tests, ensuring robust and maintainable software.

  • Excellent communication skills: ability to articulate ideas clearly and engage with diverse stakeholders.

  • A team player: always willing to help and support others, enhancing their autonomy.

  • Independent, proactive, and eager to learn.

  • Not afraid to step outside their comfort zone and contribute to other technical areas.

Nice to have:

  • REST API Design: Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, facilitating seamless integration and communication between systems.

  • Full-Stack Development: Experience developing backends with Java.

  • Experience architecting cloud native applications on AWS.
