Position Summary
The Recreation & Parks Department is currently recruiting applicants to fill temporary/seasonal positions up to 40 hours a weekto assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the Opportunities are available at a variety of skills and levels from unskilled to skilled laborers.

Payrates:
  • If age 17 and no driver's license, pay is $15.36/hour.
  • If age 17 with driver's license, pay is $15.82/hour.
  • If age 18 and no driver's license, pay is $16.78-$20.25/hour.
  • If age 18+ with drivers license, pay is $17.39-$22.17/hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
All Seasonal Recreation & Parks positions:
  • Perform general cleaning as well as general maintenance
  • Promote harmonious relations with fellow employees, divisions, departments and with the public
  • Perform and assist with any Recreation & Parks related duties
  • Operate vehicles and/or small equipment (if age 17 or do not have a driver's license, may operate small equipment only e.g., weed whipper)
  • Other job duties as assigned

Community Activity Center
  • Operate ice re-surfacing machine
  • Sharpen skates for customers
  • Perform general cleaning as well as general maintenance of facility and grounds maintenance
  • Set-up and tear-down of rooms for facility events and activities
  • Prepare racquetball courts for use
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations that ensures the facility operates in a safe manner

Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Education
High school graduate
Experience
  • 17 years of age (may operate small equipment only)
  • 18 years of age or older

Licenses/Certifications
Valid driver's license (required to operate vehicles)
Equivalency
An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered.

Anticipated Work Schedule:
Positions are temporary/seasonal positions that will work up to 40 (forty) hours per week. Evening and weekend shifts may be assigned as needed.

    Work shifts are 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Regular, full-time City of Brooklyn Park employees (40 or more hours per week) are eligible for a benefits package including:
