As utilities continue investing in grid modernization, resiliency, renewable integration, and critical infrastructure expansion, we deliver technology solutions that connect field operations, office workflows, and enterprise systems in real time.
The Electric Solution Consultant serves as a trusted advisor and technical solution expert throughout the sales process, partnering closely with Account Executives to support Electric utility opportunities. This role leads discovery efforts, defines customer-centric solutions, delivers tailored demonstrations, and helps customers understand how Itron's Resiliency Solutions can address their business and operational challenges. • Develop discovery plans, facilitate stakeholder discussions, document findings, and serve as the primary knowledge resource for internal teams throughout the sales cycle.
  • Translate customer requirements into clear, actionable solution recommendations that align business needs with product capabilities and implementation strategies.
  • Create solution descriptions, technical proposals, and response materials for RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and other procurement activities.
  • Deliver engaging, value-based product demonstrations tailored to customer use cases, operational workflows, and strategic priorities.
  • Design, coordinate, and support proof-of-concept (POC) engagements and trial programs, including project objectives, success metrics, execution plans, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Lead solution discovery workshops and collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate business and technical discussions that drive customer value.

  • Represent Itron at conferences, industry events, customer meetings, and trade shows while serving as a credible subject matter expert for Electric utility audiences.
  • Configure demonstration and solution environments to address customer-specific requirements and showcase operational and business outcomes.
  • Support the development and maintenance of solution consulting assets, including demo environments, use cases, messaging, presentations, and enablement materials.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and Marketing teams to develop compelling Electric utility-focused content, demonstrations, and customer-facing resources.
  • Maintain expertise in Electric utility construction, field operations, asset management, work management, GIS technologies, and emerging industry trends.
  • Demonstrate accountability, authenticity, innovation, and a commitment to customer success in all customer and internal interactions.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Solution Consultant, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Sales Consultant supporting enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Experience working with utility organizations and supporting customer-facing technical sales activities.
  • Strong understanding of Electric utility construction, field operations, work management, asset management, or related utility operational processes.
  • Experience leading customer discovery sessions, workshops, technical assessments, proof-of-concepts, and trial programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver tailored, value-based product demonstrations to executive, business, and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business, operational, and technical requirements into effective solution recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative and consultative approach to customer engagement.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success organizations.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
