Stand Together

Job description

Stand Together is a philanthropic community that helps America's boldest changemakers tackle the root causes of our country's biggest problems, from education to the economy, broken communities, and toxic division, among dozens of other pressing issues. We provide our partners with access to resources including funding, thought leadership, a network of peers, and a playbook for applying proven principles to transform lives and society.

As a Technology Solutions Engineer, you will own the reliability, integration, and continuous improvement of a portfolio of enterprise applications supporting HR, finance, and operations.

You will serve as a technical partner to business and technology teams, translating business needs into scalable solutions while ensuring the systems you support remain reliable and effective in production. You will design integrations, automate manual processes, troubleshoot complex issues across applications and data flows, and help shape how enterprise technologies work together.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding how a business operates, identifying opportunities to improve how work gets done, and using technology to turn those opportunities into practical solutions.

How You Will Contribute
  • Own the technical health and production reliability of a portfolio of enterprise applications across HR, finance, and operations, helping ensure business continuity and a strong employee experience.
  • Design, build, and maintain API-driven integrations and data workflows connecting enterprise applications, internal services, and third-party platforms.
  • Identify manual or inefficient processes and develop automation solutions that reduce repetitive work, improve accuracy, and enable teams to focus on higher-value activities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs, uncover root problems, and translate requirements into practical and scalable technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across application, integration, data, and infrastructure layers and provide technical escalation support when needed.
  • Lead or support root-cause analysis for production incidents and identify durable improvements that reduce recurring issues.
  • Support application releases and production deployments, including testing, validation, change coordination, and post-release stabilization.
  • Maintain clear documentation of system architecture, integrations, data flows, dependencies, configuration decisions, and technical standards.
  • Apply sound incident, problem, and change management practices using IT service management tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, security, data, and other technology teams to design solutions that work effectively across the broader enterprise ecosystem.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and automation capabilities, and identify practical opportunities to improve business processes and technology operations.
  • Manage multiple priorities and workstreams while adapting to evolving business needs.
What You Will Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in solutions engineering, enterprise applications, systems engineering, IT consulting, technical support, business systems analysis, or a related technical role.
  • Experience taking meaningful technical ownership of business-critical applications or technology solutions in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience designing or supporting system integrations using REST or SOAP APIs, webhooks, SFTP, or similar integration methods.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to query and troubleshoot data using common operations such as SELECT, WHERE, and JOIN.
  • Experience with at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues across interconnected applications, integrations, and data flows.
  • Familiarity with incident, problem, release, and change management practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to move from a business problem to an effective technical solution.
  • A natural inclination toward automation - when you see repetitive manual work, you look for a better way to solve it.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements.
  • Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's vision and principled approach to solving problems, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect.
Standout Candidates Will Bring
  • Experience supporting enterprise platforms such as ERP, HCM, CRM, work management, or workflow automation systems.
  • Experience with HR, finance, accounting, or operational business applications and the processes they enable.
  • Knowledge of ETL and data pipeline concepts and experience with integration, iPaaS, RPA, or workflow automation platforms.
  • Experience applying AI or large language models to automate workflows, improve documentation, accelerate troubleshooting, or enhance business processes.
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud architecture and cloud computing principles.
  • Experience with platforms such as Salesforce, Snowflake, Airtable, or similar enterprise technologies.
  • Relevant technical or platform certifications, such as AWS or Salesforce certifications.
What We Offer
  • Competitive benefits: Enjoy a 6% 401(k) match with immediate vesting, flexible time off, comprehensive health and dental plans, plus wellness and mental health support through Peloton and Talkspace.

  • A meaningful career: Join a passionate community of over 1,400 employees dedicated to improving lives and driving innovative solutions to complex social challenges.

  • Commitment to growth: Thrive in a non-hierarchical environment that empowers employees to discover, develop and apply their unique talents.

$100,000 - $130,000 a year

For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $100,000-$130,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for additional bonus compensation designed to align total compensation with an employee's overall contribution to the organization.

Our Principles-Based Management (PBM) compensation philosophy is grounded in an individualized approach that rewards the long-term value each person creates for the organization. Compensation decisions are informed by a variety of factors, including relevant experience, capabilities, demonstrated skills, role responsibilities, and expected contribution. Consistent with this approach, base salary may vary within or outside of the anticipated range based on these considerations.

Our Values: Working for an organization within the Stand Together philanthropic community is different from many other places. The culture is deeply rooted in Principle Based Management (PBM), a framework guided by the principles that drive human progress, such as dignity, openness, and bottom-up empowerment. PBM empowers employees to be entrepreneurial, to innovate, and to continually drive transformation.

We believe diversity fuels creativity, broadens knowledge, and helps drive success.  That is why we're proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and strive to treat all employees and applicants with honesty, dignity, and respect.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
