Our client is working with one of the top automobile OEMs and their connected vehicle technologies and related partners. This role would be working in a highly technical and fast paced environment, providing Quality Assurance expertise, testing cutting edge hardware, software, firmware and mobile implementations.

Job Description

The Technical/Solutions Architect is responsible for defining and documenting the overall application strategy in support of the Technical/Solutions Architecture and application lifecycle and technology planning processes.

Another key component to this role is the ownership of the Technical/Solutions application, information, and technology strategies and alignment to business strategy, processes and organization. These strategies define the guiding principles and goals of how the client will utilize information technology, as well as input into a comprehensive project portfolio of projects to deliver the strategy.

The Technical/Solutions Architect is also responsible for the development and maintenance of Information Technology standards, standards adherence and project architecture guidance. The Architect is also responsible for developing and maintaining the application portion of the IT documentation repository, EA planning repository and operational configuration management repositories.

The Technical/Solutions Architect is also responsible for insuring that standards and processes are adhered to by development and implementation projects.


Qualifications

SPECIALIZED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OR CERTIFICATIONS UNIQUE TO THIS JOB

Experience and / or certifications in the concepts and methodologies of Technical/Solutions architecture (e.g. Zachman Framework, TOGAF, etc) and application architecture

Conceptual knowledge of business area processes and functions 

Knowledge of information technologies (Database, Business Intelligence, Infrastructure, Networks, Web & Integration software)

Broad understanding of technologies and has experience in implementation methodologies, software development life cycle process, and project management

Excellent planning and organization, project management and time management skills

Strong problem solving and negotiation abilities

Ability to inform, educate and influence managers and employees to support goals and initiatives

Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary to effectively convey goals and initiatives to staff and management

Knowledge of the vendor market and possess existing relationships


EXPERIENCE

8+ years of experience

Must have hands on architecture experience with the following technologies: Java/JEE, Oracle, WebSphere, UNIX, MessageBroker, SAP, and Mobile (android or iOS).
