Controls Project Manager - Detroit Metro - $80,000-$130,000 + BonusAbout the Opportunity:

A well-established Building Automation contractor in Southeast Michigan is seeking a skilled Controls Project Manager to take ownership of BAS projects from initial design through final delivery. This position provides strong autonomy, leadership in the field, and direct interaction with major commercial and institutional clients across the region. It's an excellent fit for a BAS professional who enjoys both strategic planning and hands-on project execution.

Position Details:
  • Title: Controls Project Manager
  • Location: Detroit Metro Area (Clinton Township HQ)
  • Territory: Detroit & Tri-County Area, with occasional Lansing support
  • Status: Full-Time
Ideal Candidate:
  • 5+ years of Building Automation or BAS Controls project management experience
  • Solid understanding of BAS system architecture and platforms (ALC, Distech, Johnson, Tridium)
  • Capable of managing job sites and coordinating with field technicians, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and contract or proposal review
  • Experienced with documentation and change management (RFIs, change orders, closeout packages)
  • Highly organized communicator with strong leadership skills
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver multiple BAS projects at once
  • Handle scheduling, material planning, and coordination of field teams
  • Ensure project scope, deadlines, and quality expectations are consistently met
  • Maintain a proactive field presence to support daily operations
