Job description

**Position Summary: **
We are seeking a Senior Solution Engineer to support reporting, systems administration, and technical engineering initiatives within a growing organization. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards, supporting system configuration and integrations, and partnering with internal stakeholders to deliver scalable technical solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Microsoft T-SQL, reporting tools such as Power BI, and systems/process improvement in a fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: **
50% Reporting: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and develop reporting solutions. Write reports in report writing tools, with various backend databases (primarily SQL), including queries and reports to meet data feed and report requests. Design, develop, and maintain reports using reporting tools such as Power BI Develop custom code to automate report generation and data extraction tasks. Identify and troubleshoot data quality issues and ensure data accuracy and consistency. Develop and maintain ETL processes to support data reporting. Identify opportunities to improve data reporting processes and workflows. 50% Sys Admin / Engineering: Design, write, maintain, support, test, debug, implement, and improve interfaces and custom processes. Configure and support new workflows, processes, and system enhancements within the organization's HRIS environment. Manage technical coordination with third-party software vendors and implementation partners. Maintain internal and external applications with a focus on employee and client-facing self-service tools. Identify user needs and create new, innovative processes or feature solutions. Set up file feeds and scheduled tasks using internal tools and platform capabilities. Assist API Internal Integrations and External Integrations with vendors and clients. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and design APIs that meet business needs. Ensure the quality and scalability of our APIs through testing and performance tuning. Document API usage and provide support to internal and external stakeholders. Speaking to and collaborating with a variety of people, such as clients, vendors, management, and information technology (IT) staff during the creation and maintenance of a system Engaging in quality control procedures to ensure that systems are efficient and operational.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject or equivalent experience. Solid database/SQL knowledge. Excellent communication skills. Ability to design solutions to solve business problems. Skills & Competencies Advanced SQL and Database Expertise: Demonstrates strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, query writing, troubleshooting, and relational database concepts. Business Intelligence and Reporting: Designs, develops, and maintains accurate, scalable reports and dashboards using Power BI and related reporting tools. Data Integration and ETL: Supports data extraction, transformation, loading, and automation processes to deliver reliable reporting and system outputs. API and Systems Integration: Understands system connectivity, API design support, vendor integrations, and data exchange requirements across platforms. Analytical Problem-Solving: Evaluates technical and business issues, identifies root causes, and develops practical, efficient solutions. Data Quality and Accuracy: Maintains a high standard of accuracy, consistency, and validation across reports, interfaces, and system processes. Technical Communication: Communicates complex technical concepts clearly to business users, internal teams, clients, and external vendors. Project and Priority Management: Manages multiple requests, deadlines, and technical initiatives effectively in a fast-paced environment. Documentation and Process Improvement: Creates clear technical documentation and identifies opportunities to improve reporting, integrations, and workflows. Collaboration and Stakeholder Partnership: Works effectively with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business needs.

This position is primarily office-based, with work performed on a computer in either a corporate office or remote home office setting.
