What are Solution Design Engineers?

Solution Design Engineers are professionals who analyze customer requirements and create tailored technical solutions to meet those needs. They work closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to design, document, and sometimes implement systems or products. Their role often includes understanding client challenges, developing proposals, and ensuring that proposed solutions are both technically feasible and cost-effective. Solution Design Engineers are commonly found in industries like IT, telecommunications, manufacturing, and engineering services.

What is the difference between Solution Design Engineer vs Systems Engineer?

We are looking for an AV Systems Design Engineer to join a team in Georgia on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position is ideal for someone who can lead the full development of audiovisual solutions, from early design planning and technical documentation through final system testing and handoff. The role combines engineering precision, client-focused solution design, and hands-on validation to ensure each deployment meets performance and quality expectations.
Responsibilities:
• Create complete audiovisual system designs, including equipment selection, scope definition, labor estimates, and pricing support.
• Develop clear 2D technical drawings and maintain accurate system documentation for installation and delivery teams.

• Configure, test, and verify AV systems before turnover to confirm functionality, reliability, and readiness for use.
• Work with established AV technology platforms such as Q-SYS, Biamp, Crestron, and Extron to support integrated solution design.
• Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to align technical design decisions with project goals, timelines, and operational needs.
• Identify design issues early, troubleshoot system performance concerns, and recommend practical technical improvements.
• Support quoting and bill-of-material creation to ensure proposed solutions are accurate, scalable, and commercially aligned.
