Job description

ROLE: - AWS Solution Architect
LOCATION: - Raleigh, NC or Foster City, CA
DURATION: - Long term contract
Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead joint solution/offering architecture discussions with partner architects and support development
  • Drive holistic solutions for data platforms, analytics, built cost summaries, value propositions as part of cloud modernization, data portfolio rationalization
  • Provide leadership for the transformation of customer requirements into visions, strategies, and roadmaps to implement data platforms, multi-cloud, and cloud data warehouse
  • Contribute to the cloud community by developing assets, thought leadership, etc.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' Degree and a minimum of 10+ years of professional IT experience
  • Proven experience in successfully building and defending solution architecture with different levels of technical partners -Enterprise Architects, Technical Leads, etc.
Technical Qualifications:
  • Required cloud competencies:
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect
  • Experience in architecting data warehouse solutions for 10+ years
  • Strong experience (8+ years) implementing Cloud and infrastructure components for AWS (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end Cloud architectures and designs
  • Knowledge of PaaS services relating to Data, Analytics and end-point API interfaces - EMR/Dataproc /Databricks etc.
  • Ability to compare and contrast between best of technologies by layer -e.g. stream processing, messaging, search, etc.
  • Knowledge of other partner technologies, which are alternative to native services like Snowflake, Cloudera, Talend, Informatica, Confluent, etc.
  • Holistic knowledge of solution architecture, including:
  • Data layers and purpose
  • Serverless compute
  • Processing run time -ETL vs Spark run time, etc.
  • Security controls around authentication, authorizations, encryption, and certificates
  • Ability to recommend the migration tools and design data migration strategy
  • Metadata and data catalogs
  • Ability to compare and contrast across technologies in any layer objectively with evaluation criteria and considerations
  • Experience Optimizations including increasing Operational efficiencies on AWS while reducing overall DevOps costs
  • Can clearly articulate Enterprise Standards & Operational Governance mechanisms that can be built-in for each layer of AWS Cloud data and analytics (Ingestion, Transformation, Consumption, Governance, Business touchpoints)
  • Knowledge of DevOps, infrastructure, and security standards
  • Technical knowledge on EC2, IAM, S3, VPC, Lambda, Glue
  • Security architecture design
  • Create Architectural standards and policy documents to socialize and align cross-functional teams
  • Help delivery team to create business friendly touchpoints/UI/Experience with the new AWS platform
  • Good knowledge and experience in Lifesciences (Commercial, Managed Markets domains).
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Expertise in preparing presentations, executive readouts
