APPLICANTS MUST RESIDE IN HAWAII. THIS IS AN ON-SITE JOB, Mon - Fri position
FIELD SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
Type: Full-Time position, hourly (non-exempt), entry-levelFunctions: Trouble-shooting and repair of photovoltaic and battery systems
Department: Service Department/Field Support TechnicianReports to: Operations Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Our Field Support Technician will join the dynamic Service Department/Post Installation team to field customer concerns and requests, schedule appointments, diagnose problems, and repair systems. Technicians work independently or in teams depending on the scope of work, specific system training will be provided.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Fielding customer calls and emails
  • Diagnose and repair photovoltaic, battery storage, and other related electrical equipment
  • Testing equipment and gathering the information necessary to process warranty claims
  • Walk customers through standard diagnostics and resolutions over the phone and in person
  • Coordinate service calls and keep homeowners informed of the progress of their support ticket
  • Maintain open communications with Customer Support Representatives and ensure information is shared in a timely manner
  • Enforce company safety policies and practices. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with safety and other applicable government regulations
  • Ensure maximum customer respect and excellent service while working on projects
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects to meet company goals

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Fluent oral and written English communication skills to read work instructions
  • Attention to detail, Excellent communication skills, Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the phone
  • Strong ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities at once
  • Mid-level experience using a smart phone, tablet, and internet
  • Operating knowledge of personal computers, MacOS is preferable
  • Strong ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
  • Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, be reliable, punctual, and seek to be a contribution to your team

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Safely operating company vehicles, climbing ladders, and operating power tools
  • Constant need to lift light articles; occasional need to carry and lift up to 60 pounds
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components
  • Follow OSHA regulations while working on jobs requiring personal protection equipment and fall protection systems
  • Occasional opportunities for overnight stays on the neighbor islands

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 18+ years old of age
  • Valid driver's license & clean driving record
  • Pass a Drug Screening and on-going random drug tests

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS2022
  • Minimum 2 years of experience solar maintenance, repair, or trouble-shooting
  • 2 or more years of providing excellent Customer Service
  • Knowledge / experience of both AC and DC systems, battery storage systems
  • General knowledge of NEC, NABCEP Certification
  • Construction and Electrical experience a plus
