Pfister Energy is seeking Solar Installers at all experience levels—from entry-level candidates to experienced installers, Crew Leads, and Foremen—to support the mechanical installation of commercial rooftop solar PV systems.

This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on safe, efficient, and high-quality installation work. Candidates will be placed at a level that aligns with their experience, with opportunities to advance into leadership roles over time.

Core Responsibilities (All Levels):

  • Follow fall protection and rooftop safety procedures at all times
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment
  • Stage, organize, and handle materials on rooftops and job sites
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas
  • Collaborate with installers, electricians, Crew Leads, and project management
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Travel regionally to support project needs

Additional Responsibilities (Experienced Installer / Leadership Levels):

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, layouts, and project specifications
  • Identify constructability concerns and installation issues
  • Support quality control inspections and punch-list completion
  • Lead by example in safety, workmanship, and productivity
  • Coordinate daily installation activities and crew workflow
  • Train and mentor junior installers
  • Lead toolbox talks and enforce safety standards
  • Track production goals and installation quality
  • Interface with site supervision, project managers, and safety staff

Qualifications by Experience Level:

Entry Level

  • Interest in construction, solar, or skilled trades
  • Comfortable working on rooftops and at heights
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • No prior solar experience required (construction, roofing, or mechanical experience is a plus)

Experienced Installer

  • 2+ years of commercial solar installation experience (mechanical focus)
  • Experience working on commercial rooftops
  • Strong understanding of racking systems and module installation
  • Ability to read and execute from construction drawings
  • OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)

Crew Lead / Foreman

  • Prior experience leading crews on commercial solar or construction projects
  • Proven ability to manage safety, quality, and productivity
  • Experience coordinating with project management and site supervision
  • Experience on prevailing wage or public works projects preferred

Preferred Certifications & Experience (All Levels):

  • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30
  • Lift certifications (scissor lift, boom lift, forklift)
  • CPR / First Aid
  • Experience with ballasted and attached rooftop systems
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally

Career Growth & Advancement:

Pfister Energy offers a clear career progression pathway from entry-level installer through Crew Lead, Foreman, and beyond. Advancement is based on performance, safety, technical skill, and leadership ability.

Apprenticeship & Training Opportunities:

  • Paid, company-sponsored apprenticeship programs
  • On-the-job training paired with classroom instruction
  • OSHA and safety certification support
  • Electrical and solar trade apprenticeship pathways
  • Continuing education and leadership development
