About Absolute Energy

We're a Class A licensed solar and electrical contractor based in the Shenandoah Valley serving the Waynesboro, Staunton, Harrisonburg, and Charlottesville areas. We install solar systems, battery storage, EV chargers, generators, and handle full residential electrical โ€” from panel upgrades and service changes to new construction wiring. We're a small, growing crew led by a licensed Master Electrician with deep expertise in both traditional electrical and solar energy systems.

What You'll Do

  • Perform residential electrical work: panel upgrades, 200A/400A service changes, rewires, new construction rough-ins, and trim-outs
  • Install and wire EV chargers, backup generators, and battery storage systems
  • Support solar PV installations (wiring, inverter connections, rapid shutdown, interconnection)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, single-line diagrams, and plan sets
  • Pull permits and coordinate inspections with local AHJs
  • Maintain clean, professional job sites and document work using CompanyCam
  • Communicate directly with homeowners and GCs on active projects

What We're Looking For

  • Solid understanding of the NEC and residential electrical systems
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
  • Ability to work on roofs, in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoors in all seasons
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or alongside our team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn solar and energy storage systems

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay ($28โ€“$42/hr for journeymen, DOE)
  • Hands-on training in solar PV, battery storage (Franklin, Sol-Ark, SolarEdge), and EV charger installation โ€” skills that are the future of this trade
  • Work directly under a Master Electrician who will invest in your growth
  • Variety of project types โ€” no two days are the same
  • Small company culture: your voice matters, your work is noticed, and there's real room to grow into a lead or foreman role
