Job description

Salary:

Outpatient Therapist (Richmond, VA)

Employer: Storms Assessments & Counseling Services, LLC
Location: Richmond, VA (city + surrounding counties) Community/office/telehealth mix
Schedule: Full-time (some late afternoon/evening availability preferred)

About the Role

Were seeking a compassionate, outcomes-focused Outpatient Therapist to provide short-term individual and family counseling for youth and caregivers. This role is ideal for clinicians who love direct care now and want the option to expand into BSFT (Brief Strategic Family Therapy) and ICC (High-Fidelity Wraparound) with paid training and supervision.

What Youll Do (Outpatient Focus)

  • Provide evidence-based outpatient therapy (CBT-oriented; brief, goal-driven) to youth and families.
  • Complete intakes, treatment plans with measurable objectives, progress notes, and discharge summaries on time.
  • Integrate practical skills: emotion regulation, communication coaching, problem-solving, and school/home routines.
  • Coordinate care with schools, primary care, DSS/DJJ when relevant; provide concise updates as needed.
  • Track outcomes (attendance, behavior incidents, caregiver reports) and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Participate in supervision/consultation and contribute to a supportive team culture.

Growth Pathway (Optional)

With tenure and strong documentation/fidelity:

  • BSFT Therapist Path: Company-sponsored training and ongoing model consultation; shift a portion of your caseload to family-based BSFT work.
  • ICC Provider Path: Training in High-Fidelity Wraparound; coordinate cross-system teams (PO/school/DSS/caregivers), aligning services under one plan.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field.
  • Virginia license or license-eligible (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Resident/Supervisee with active Board approval).
  • Experience providing therapy to youth and families.
  • Strong clinical writing, boundaries, and crisis de-escalation skills.
  • Reliable transportation to serve clients across the Richmond region.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with brief treatment models (CBT, MI, TF-CBT elements), and collaboration with schools/DJJ/DSS.
  • Comfort with home/community sessions and practical, skills-based interventions.
  • Interest in formal training for BSFT and/or ICC.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay (salary or fee-for-service) with productivity incentives.
  • Paid training and supervision toward BSFT and ICC certification/credentialing (optional).
  • Flexible scheduling, mileage reimbursement for community visits.
  • Supportive, mission-driven team that values collaboration and work-life balance.

Compliance & Safety

  • Background check, driving record check, and health screenings as applicable.
  • Adherence to ethical, legal, and payer documentation standards.
