Job description

Job Title: Electrician – Residential, Solar, Off-Grid, and Backup Power Systems

Job Summary
Off Grid Solutions is hiring a motivated, detail-oriented electrician to join our Colorado-based team, serving the Front Range and Denver metro area. We are licensed master electricians specializing in high-performance residential electrical systems — from basic service work to complex off-grid power systems, solar and storage integration, emergency backup power, and load management solutions. We’re looking for electricians who take pride in clean, code-compliant work and are eager to grow with a company building the future of resilient, efficient homes.

Key Responsibilities

Residential Electrical Service & Repair:

  • Troubleshoot and repair common residential issues, including faulty outlets, switches, lighting, and circuit breakers.

  • Replace or install new devices, fixtures, and wiring in compliance with NEC and local codes.

  • Upgrade existing electrical systems for safety, capacity, or modernization (e.g., AFCI/GFCI upgrades, whole-home surge protection).

  • Perform full-service rebuilds, including meter base and main panel replacements, grounding/bonding upgrades, and utility coordination.

  • Conduct load calculations, panel audits, and service sizing for new construction, remodels, or additions.

Solar, Storage & Backup Systems:

  • Install and wire solar PV systems (grid-tied and off-grid) in residential settings.

  • Integrate battery storage systems, including hybrid inverters, smart load panels, and balance-of-system equipment.

  • Install and commission backup generators, ATSs, and manual transfer systems.

  • Program and troubleshoot energy management systems, load shedding controls, and system monitoring platforms.

Installation & Construction:

  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and single-line drawings.

  • Install conduit (EMT, PVC, ENT, etc.), raceways, service panels, subpanels, disconnects, and distribution gear.

  • Wire homes from rough-in to final trim, ensuring all work meets local code and utility interconnection standards.

  • Coordinate installation phases with other trades and communicate proactively with project managers and homeowners.

Testing, Safety & Documentation:

  • Verify continuity, polarity, insulation resistance, and voltage at key test points.

  • Adhere to lockout/tagout, PPE, and OSHA safety protocols on all job sites.

  • Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, materials, and system configurations.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree, technical school certificate, or completion of electrical apprenticeship preferred.

  • 5 years minimum experience in residential electrical work.

  • Experience with service upgrades, solar, battery storage, or generator systems is a strong plus.

  • Solid understanding of NEC, Colorado Electrical Code, and local permitting/inspection processes.

  • Clean, efficient workmanship and a customer-first mindset.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in various outdoor and indoor environments.

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Colorado Residential or Journeyman Electrician License (or in progress)

  • NABCEP PV Associate or Installer Certification

  • OSHA 10/30

  • CPR/First Aid
