Job description

Summary

This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position that will report to the Commercial Solar Superintendent. The Commercial Solar Installers are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of photovoltaic (PV) systems on commercial buildings and properties. This role requires hands-on work with solar panels, mounting systems, electrical wiring, and associated components to ensure efficient and code-compliant solar energy systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Experience working with enlarged commercial photovoltaic (PV) installations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and OSHA requirements.
  • Install PV systems on commercial rooftops, carports, and ground mounts.
  • Assemble, mount, and connect solar modules and different types of solar racking systems.
  • Ability to operate different types of scissor lifts.
  • Can pass MVR and drive company vehicles and equipment (company trucks, lift beds, etc.)
  • Perform electrical wiring and interconnection according to plans and code.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of installed systems.
  • Comply with time and attendance policies and taking appropriate breaks and lunches.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma Preferred.
  • At least 2 Years Experience with Commercial-scale solar installations.
  • Knowledge of NEC, solar codes, and installation practices.
  • Basic electrical knowledge or licensure.
