Job description

Role Description:
  • This position is responsible for actively participating in the planning, development, and implementation of software training programs for mainly online learners/customers.
  • Assist in all phases of training from conceptualization through completion, including designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training to ensure objectives are attained.
  • Collaborate with lead instructional designer and subject matter experts to create design documents, storyboards, training materials, and learning artifacts to be delivered online and face-to-face.
  • Develop job aids, training videos, and other learning artifacts to support course material.
  • Collaborate with lead instructional designer, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to develop and implement curriculum.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training activities.
  • When appropriate, create lesson plans to ensure continuity of delivered courses.
  • Revise course material and user guides, as needed.
  • Provide leadership in identifying training program issues and in developing creative solutions.
  • Experience using Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and Moodle is preferred.
  • Additional functions and other duties as assigned or required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • To be eligible for this position you must hold an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or other equivalent, as well as nine or more years of professional experience designing, developing, and implementing training online and face-to-face.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, interpret and integrate technical writing source material into training curriculum.
  • Must be able to manage the development and communication of new concepts, some of which may be complex.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of training management principles, concepts, and practices as well as leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination across departments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to interact with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Customer focused and must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Travel on an as needed basis.

Pay Rate:
In compliance with Virginia's Equal Pay for Equal Work law, the annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $190,000. This range represents the base pay for this role and is provided in accordance with Maryland's requirements to disclose compensation in job postings. Please note that actual compensation may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market conditions. In addition to base salary, candidates hired into this position may be eligible for a hiring bonus of $10,000.00, subject to applicable contingencies and Navstar policy.
