Position Summary

CVS Health is looking for a hands-onSenior Manager - Software Development Engineering to lead application delivery, production stability, and engineering execution for critical digital and enterprise platforms. This role combines people leadership, technical oversight, and cross-functional partnership to ensure applications are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

The Manager will oversee the full software development lifecycle, guide technical decision-making, and support a high-performing team focused on modernization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This leader will work closely with Product, Data, Infrastructure, and business partners to deliver integrated solutions that improve performance, reduce risk, and support innovation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own application stability and risk mitigation by proactively identifying vulnerabilities, leading root cause analysis, and driving timely resolution of complex production issues.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Data, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Drive delivery planning, technical execution, and dependency management to maintain efficient and reliable implementation timelines.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, frameworks, and engineering best practices to improve application performance and team productivity.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
  • Establish measurable engineering and operational goals aligned with business outcomes.
  • Provide hands-on technical direction and architecture guidance to support application modernization and long-term platform health.
  • Ensure governance, risk management, and compliance, including audit readiness and adherence to enterprise policies (e.g., SOX, security standards)
    Drive delivery excellence across cross-functional initiatives, ensuring ensuring high-quality, timely, and cost-effective outcomes.


Required Qualifications
5+ years of SAP CAR experience including 2+ years experience of leading projects and managing direct reports.

Experience supporting vendor hosted Finance applications.
Experience supporting or partnering with Finance organization and other business areas.
Experience managing a retail finance application portfolio in a regulated environment.

Strong understanding of compliance, audit, and risk management frameworks.

Experience managing budgets for the portfolio.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Adept at collaboration and teamwork.

Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills

Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms and modern application architectures.
Demonstrated experience leading transformation and modernization efforts.
Education

Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,605.00 - $260,590.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
