Job description

The Software Functional Tester performs testing activities, such as design, development, and execution of functional test scenarios for Upgrade/Migration of Core processing systems and other internal and external applications. This position collaborates with offshore test team members to coordinate test deliverables. The Tester works closely with business team members and assists in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Partners with business and development teams to understand application workflows and plan/design appropriate tests for the same.
  • Works with QA team members to understand functionality of interfaces and design and executes test cases in the ALM.
  • Critically analyzes requirements and works with BA to resolve clarifications on Business Requirement Documents and Technical Requirements Documents prior to testing
  • Supports and/or independently completes testing activities for the Application under Test across SDLC, which require problem solving using analysis, experience and decision making.
  • Executes automated test cases in UFT and analyze output of automation reports.
  • Analyzes workflows and provides clarifications to business team members and drives the testing deliverables as part of user acceptance testing.
  • Creates clearly documented bug reports for issues identified in SIT/UAT phases and log and tracks them on the respective test management tools. Coordinates resolution defects with development team, functional and configuration teams as required.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement and maintenance of the Regression Test suite.
  • Participates in status meetings and defects triage meetings with vendors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager
  • Corporate Compliance Responsibility - As an essential function, responsible for complying with Neighborhoods Corporate Compliance Program, Standards of Business Conduct, applicable contracts, laws, rules and regulations, policies, and procedures as it applies to individual job duties, the department, and the Company. This position must exercise due diligence to prevent, detect, and report unlawful and/or unethical conduct by fellow co-workers, professional affiliates and/or agents.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in computer science or equivalent education or relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Five (5) or more years of functional testing & quality assurance experience.
  • Experience in US Health Care Domain and related claim processing systems like FACETS, Health Rules Payer etc.
  • Experience in Health Care EDI transactions and hands on experience in test data design and mockups using EDI files.
  • Excellent knowledge of testing processes and practice with good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and end to end hand son testing experience across all phases.
  • Hands on Experience in ALM and test automation tools like UFT.
  • Familiarity with Relational Database Management Systems and ability to write SQL queries for data extraction and validations.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Prior Experience working with an onshore offshore model
