About this role:

The Senior Test Engineer position design, build, review, execution, and automation of test cases and demonstrates expertise in all areas of testing.

Skills & experience

  • Strong exposure on Manual/Feature testing along with strong automation experience in UI, API, and DB automation.

  • Experience in development of new test framework.

  • Hands on experience in implementation of automation test solutions and maintenance to ease out manual testing.

  • Experience in CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins/Gitlab to help building / configuring continuous integration tool to reduce testing cycle.

  • Sound knowledge of methodologies and approaches such as Agile, DevOps, etc.

What you will do:

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop test plans, strategies and ensure the development & execution of test cases meet project goals and QA standards.

  • Lead functional testing of new requirements and enhancements of applications.

  • Maintenance of regression test suite and driving the test execution.

  • Identify, track, and prioritize defects with right severities; work collaboratively with technical teams to resolve issues swiftly and effectively.

  • Ensure the overall quality, reliability, and performance of products by managing the design, execution, and reporting of testing activities, including functional and non-functional testing like performance, DB and API testing.

  • Ensure delivery against Quality Engineering department goals and objectives, meeting commitments.

  • Provide clear and detailed status, including metrics, assess and mitigate risks to ensure timely delivery of excellent quality.

  • Implement best practices, including a variety of different testing protocols, tools, and metrics.

  • Drive innovation and integration of modern technologies into frameworks and activities in the software test architecture to increase the performance and efficiency of the Quality Engineering department.

What you will need

Strong IT professional with 5-7 years of experience in software testing (websites and/or mobile applications). The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative critical thinking skills along with high on ownership and accountability.

Must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in QA, handling all testing activities independently.

  • Experience implementing and executing defined standards for manual and automated testing.

  • Experience leading automation scripting and expertise in JavaScript.

  • Experience with test automation tool such as Playwright.

  • Experience in estimation, prioritization, and planning/coordination of QA activities in a Scrum environment

  • Proficiency optimizing test case management and defect management software and processes, including JIRA.

  • Solid experience in SQL queries and database testing.

  • Strong attention to details, end-user quality, and usability

  • Experience in developing/maintaining Test automation frameworks.

  • Experience in integrating test suites with tools in the DevOps/CICD pipelines - GIT, Jenkins, etc.

  • Self-motivator and excellent problem solver

Good to have:

  • Hands on experience in JUnit, TestNG, JMeter, Cucumber, Appium, Postman.

  • Hands on exposure to AI driven testing

  • Experience in Disaster Recovery (DR) testing

  • Hands on experience with cloud service platforms is a plus (Azure or AWS)

  • Deep knowledge of design patterns, best code practices and automation industry trends, as well as Continuous Integration concepts and tools.

  • Experience with Performance, and Mobile testing

  • Experience using various bug tracking tools such as Jira and test management tools such as Xray, AIO.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 72,000 USD - 100,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
