Job Description

Reliability Development Test Engineers are responsible for validating the vehicle, systems, and sub-systems to meet strength and durability targets with a goal of meeting or exceeding customer expectations. You will be in charge of delivering sub-system or full vehicle computational and testing results at every stage of the automotive development project(s). When performance concerns arise during validation testing, you will be responsible for developing appropriate countermeasure plans and work closely with cross-functional departments for implementation of plan.


Responsibilities :

  • Produce and analyze engineering data using pre-set tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Responsible for planning, preparing, and coordinating various aspects of Reliability tests and/or simulations including arrangement of facilities, requesting support, and acquiring the necessary parts and materials.
  • Physically support tests including confirmation that test setups are correct and that test plans are understood and executed to intent.
  • Prepare moderately complex documentation for review by technical leadership to record and submit all necessary development / testing / research information per the determined schedule.
  • Help coordinate and execute root cause analysis, countermeasure activites, and improvement intiatives to technical leadership.


4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Experience Desired

  • 2 years engineering experience including co-op/internship or equivalent

Other Job-Specific Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Experience in data analysis and communication of complex information to engineering management is desired.
  • Experience with following software or similar is desired
  • 3D CAD surface modeling CATIA or SolidWorks
  • Data acquisition software
  • FEA Software Abaqus, Nastran, Hypermesh, Ansa, Meta, LS-DYNA
  • Scripting in Java, Python, MATLAB
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concerns
