Title:
National Security Solutions (NSS) Internship - Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT)
Project Overview
KBR is looking for highly motivated rising Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students seeking science, engineering and software development opportunities that provide challenging and meaningful work experience to be a part of our 2026 Intern class.
Throughout this internship, the PNT department is looking to develop a well-rounded individual prepared to tackle the various aspects of a project lifecycle. During this accelerated hands-on experience, you can expect to grow in understanding of the various phases including receiver integration, testing development, programming automation, results analysis, and documentation. These phases will utilize many engineering skillsets introduced during undergrad including RF theory, programming, testing, validating, device integration, planning, and modeling and simulation. As PNT experts, KBR is supporting a US government customer to set up a PNT analysis lab to enable top of the line testing capabilities. The KBR NSS intern will be working closely with our experienced PNT engineers in designing, testing, and automating the equipment for this lab.
Key Responsibilities
  • Setup various hardware testing environments and ensure remote communication capabilities.
  • Create scripts to automate the configuration of test setups.
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Integrate GPS receivers into the control software.
  • Analyze results and document key findings.

Work Environment
  • Location: Onsite at our Beavercreek, OH location
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%; No planned travel.
  • Working Hours: Up to 40 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • Education: Enrolled in Bachelor's degree program in Science, Engineering, Software Development, or a related field.
  • Strong technical foundation.
  • Programming skills.
  • Analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with testing and validation.
  • Knowledge of GPS and Control Software.
  • Modeling and simulation experience.
  • Familiarity with control software and version control systems.
  • Data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience with project management tools.
