National Fuel is currently seeking to fill the below internship within the Information Technology department for the Fall 2026 semester.
Internship Description:
IT Software Engineer
  • Collaborate with IT staff and third-party vendors to develop and deploy applications and system interfaces.
  • Document and track reported phone cloud issues, including relevant details, testing results, screenshots, and supporting evidence.
  • Use telecommunications application reporting tools to research issues and validate behavior.
  • Assist with testing, audio enhancements and client changes.
  • Help improve user-facing instructions, support documentation, knowledge-sharing materials, and repeatable training resources for document management system.
  • Assist with improvements to user-facing client experience for document management system.
  • Leverage approved AI tools where appropriate to support documentation, issue analysis, testing summaries, knowledge-sharing materials, and process improvement recommendations.

Qualifications:
  • Jr. or Sr. undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree/concentration in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related discipline
  • Interest in a career in software engineering with an eager and open-minded attitude towards learning new technologies
  • Proficient in or knowledgeable/open to investigating tools to assist application teams
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence as well as collaboratively with a team
  • Able to learn quickly and take initiative with a strong sense of ownership, with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple assignments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Compensation:
  • The base pay for this position is $20/hr.
