Job description

McLeod Software is seeking a Software Solutions Architect to partner with our enterprise customers to design solutions that align McLeod's core software with complex business processes and operational needs. The Solutions Architect will also play a key role in Business Process Reviews, Customer Roadmaps, Solution Design and software modifications.
In this a collaborative, customer-facing role where you will lead discovery, analyze business and technical requirements, identify gaps, and design solutions that maximize the capabilities of McLeod Software products. You will also work closely with customers, Business Analysts, Developers, QA teams, and subject matter experts throughout the software development lifecycle.
What You'll Do
  • Lead customer consultations to define requirements, scope modifications, and develop functional designs for custom solutions.
  • Lead customer-facing activities for Business Process Reviews, including onsite interviews, discovery sessions, process analysis, and presentation of findings and recommendations.
  • Lead key Roadmap engagements, assist with training, identify product gaps and integration requirements, present recommendations to customer executives.
  • Ensure user stories and test cases clearly define requirements and user acceptance criteria for software modifications.

  • Collaborate with Development, Business Analyst and QA to design, test, and deliver scalable, high-quality customer solutions.
  • Review porting lists and provide estimates to support customer upgrades.
  • Create process maps to document current-state, future-state, and integration workflows.
  • Leverage McLeod products and internal subject matter experts to maximize standard functionality and minimize customization.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience in a technical or software-focused Business Analyst role.
  • Experience reviewing porting lists and project-driven software modifications.
  • Experience working with APIs, EDI, ETL processes, or system-to-system interfaces.
  • Experience evaluating configuration-based solutions
  • Ability to interpret technical outputs, including system logs and error messages
  • Familiarity with database concepts and structured data formats such as JSON and XML.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and record-keeping skills.
  • Availability for occasional out of state travel to customer locations is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with software implementations, systems analysis, and technical consulting.
  • Experience supporting complex customer workflows and leading functional or technical discovery.
  • Experience troubleshooting system behavior and designing configuration-based solutions.
  • Working knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry.
  • McLeod Software products experience (LoadMaster, DocumentPower, PowerBroker)
  • Process-mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.
