What is a software software?

The term 'Software Software' appears to be a typographical error or redundancy. Typically, the intended job title is 'Software Engineer' or 'Software Developer.' These professionals are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications or systems. They use programming languages and engineering principles to solve problems and create software solutions for businesses or consumers. Their work can range from building desktop applications to developing complex cloud-based systems.

How does a software software typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during a project?

Software Engineers frequently work alongside product managers, designers, and quality assurance specialists to deliver robust solutions. Collaboration usually involves regular meetings to clarify requirements, code reviews to ensure quality, and agile ceremonies like stand-ups or sprint planning to coordinate progress. Effective communication and adaptability are essential, as priorities and project scopes may shift based on feedback from various stakeholders. This teamwork fosters a dynamic environment where engineers can both learn from and contribute to multiple areas of the product lifecycle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a software software, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Software Engineer, you need strong programming skills, a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, and typically a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with development tools, version control systems like Git, and frameworks or languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript is essential. Problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication are standout soft skills in this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for building robust software solutions, collaborating with teams, and adapting to evolving technology.

Job description

At KLAS, our mission is to improve healthcare by amplifying truth through collaboration, insights, and transparency.

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and help build high-quality software solutions that power KLAS Research. In this role, you'll work alongside engineers and cross-functional partners to develop and improve applications that support our research, data, and business operations.

You'll primarily work with C#, React, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server, contributing throughout the software development lifecycle—from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications using C#, React, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Build reliable, secure, and performant applications that support KLAS's current and future products.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployments to maintain high standards for software quality.
  • Write unit tests and contribute to strong development and testing practices.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing applications, development practices, and technical solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and bring new ideas to the team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related discipline—or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience developing modern software applications with C#/.NET and React.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server.
  • Strong understanding of database design, application architecture, and software development best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to write Unit Tests.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, coding standards, and version control.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with additional programming languages, frameworks, or cloud technologies a plus

The salary range for this role starts at $120,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. We offer exceptional benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, HSA with company match, 401K with company match, PTO, and more.
All employees undergo a comprehensive internal education program to gain knowledge of the healthcare information technology industry and KLAS' methodology. Learn more about us at www.klasresearch.com.
