Team Red Dog

Redmond, WA

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement, PTO

Posted 4 days ago

Job description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Software Release Program Manager – Microsoft 365 & Office for our client, a global productivity and collaboration leader and Fortune 50 technology leader. This role will lead cross-functional planning and execution for high-visibility Office product releases and lifecycle initiatives impacting customers worldwide. You will partner across engineering, product management, marketing, support, servicing, and business operations to manage release readiness, schedules, dependencies, risks, communications, and end-of-service programs. This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of complex enterprise software releases while influencing how major productivity products are launched, supported, and transitioned throughout their lifecycle.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Program/Project Management – 5+ years managing complex, cross-functional technology programs, including project planning, milestone management, risk tracking, dependencies, and delivery against deadlines.
  2. Software Product Launch & Lifecycle Management – 3+ years supporting software releases, launch readiness, release management, product lifecycle initiatives, or product retirement/end-of-service programs.
  3. Executive Communications & Business Operations – 3+ years developing executive-ready status reporting, presentations, project plans, risk assessments, readiness materials, and stakeholder communications.
  4. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management – Proven ability to independently coordinate engineering and business teams, facilitate decision-making, resolve blockers, and drive multiple workstreams through completion.

Opportunity Overview:

Join a high-impact team responsible for the packaging, release, and lifecycle management of Office updates and products used by customers around the world. You will play a key role in the next perpetual Office release and Office end-of-service programs, gaining exposure to senior leadership and teams spanning engineering, product management, marketing, support, servicing, and business operations. With significant ownership from launch planning through end-of-service execution, this role offers the opportunity to influence customer readiness, adoption, modernization, and operational excellence across a major enterprise software ecosystem.

How you will make an impact:

  • Lead planning and execution activities for Office product releases and end-of-service initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, release schedules, launch timelines, milestones, and readiness checklists.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, product management, marketing, support, servicing, readiness, and business operations.
  • Track program status, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and mitigation plans, proactively driving issues through resolution.
  • Coordinate launch readiness reviews, stakeholder meetings, decision-making forums, and post-launch assessments.
  • Support release planning, launch execution, customer adoption initiatives, lifecycle management, and product retirement activities.
  • Develop customer and internal communications supporting product releases and end-of-service programs.
  • Create executive-ready presentations, dashboards, status reports, business updates, and readiness materials.
  • Ensure stakeholder alignment on launch goals, deliverables, customer communications, operational readiness, and key milestones.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen operational efficiency and execution quality.
  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining quality, schedule, and business objectives.

The expertise you bring:

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience supporting complex technology programs.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting software product launches, release readiness, release management, product lifecycle management, or end-of-service initiatives.
  • 3+ years of experience creating project plans, executive communications, status reporting, risk tracking, and stakeholder updates.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating complex cross-functional initiatives involving engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Strong project planning, organizational, stakeholder management, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently own initiatives, manage competing priorities, identify risks, and drive projects to completion.
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder reviews and coordinating decisions across multiple teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate operational information and data into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and senior or executive stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Office, Windows, release management, or other large-scale enterprise software environments is strongly preferred.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

A highly successful candidate combines disciplined program management with hands-on experience driving software releases or lifecycle programs from planning through execution. They are comfortable working independently across engineering and business organizations, proactively identifying risks and dependencies rather than waiting for direction, and keeping complex programs moving toward defined milestones. Experience with Microsoft 365, Office, Windows, or another enterprise software ecosystem will be particularly valuable, along with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders. Strong candidates will demonstrate ownership, sound judgment, polished executive communication, and a track record of driving cross-functional projects through ambiguity to successful completion.
