They facilitate regular meetings, such as stand-ups or sprint reviews, to ensure everyone is on the same page and that priorities are being met. By acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, Program Managers help ensure that quality standards are maintained while deadlines are achieved. Effective communication and proactive issue resolution are key aspects of their collaboration with these teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a software program manager?

Job description

About Mytra:
We're creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We're applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We're focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a "sleepy" industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.
About the role
Mytra's Engineering team is looking for a dynamic and collaborative Senior Technical Program Manager to lead our software programs - spanning bot-level firmware, fleet orchestration software, warehouse management system (WMS) integration, and machine learning / computer vision (ML/CV) pipelines.
As a Software TPM, you'll drive development and delivery of the software that powers our
autonomous material flow systems. You'll collaborate with firmware, backend, ML/CV, and robotics engineers to plan, execute, and ship software that runs on our bots, orchestrates fleets in real time, integrates with customer warehouse management systems, and deploys ML/CV models into production. You'll own the overall software deliveries timeline, and drive results across cross-functional teams.
This role requires high agency and cross-functional leadership, deep comfort with software development processes (agile, continuous integration/delivery, DevOps), and the ability to drive complex software systems from architecture through deployment and production operations.
What you'll do:
  • Create and maintain program plans, timelines, and milestones for software deliverables across bot firmware, fleet orchestration, WMS integration, and ML/CV pipelines
  • Drive agile development and release planning across multiple software teams; establish sprint cadences, manage backlogs, and coordinate cross-team dependencies
  • Collaborate and communicate with leadership, internal engineering, and external partners to drive execution, retire risks early, and maintain alignment between hardware and software workstreams
  • Initiate and implement processes to ensure efficient deployment of engineering resources, and establish program management best practices for software delivery

Ideal Candidates:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management or related role, leading full software development lifecycles and launching complex, multi-service software systems
  • Experience planning and managing sprints, schedules, budgets, and engineering resources for software programs
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional software teams, communicating results to senior leadership, and driving programs' success

Nice to have:
  • You're very comfortable developing timelines and driving programs execution, and have proven experience launching multiple products.
  • You are excited about working on maturing products, growing, and shaping the future of the company.
  • You're familiar with Linear, Smartsheets, Notion, Jira, Asana or any other task/project management platform.
  • You can convey complex ideas and technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • You are driven to achieve hard goals, inquisitive, and take pride in the products you create

A Final Note:
If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply - even if you don't check every box. At Mytra, we build bots, but we hire humans. We value thoughtful challengers who communicate with clarity and respect, and we're lifelong learners committed to getting better every day. We move fast, learn faster, and show up for each other under pressure. The best outcomes come from diverse perspectives working together to build something meaningful and built to last
Benefits Include:
  • Competitive compensation and equity grants at a high-growth company backed by top-tier VCs
  • Fully subsidized health coverage, including medical (baseline plans), dental, and vision for employees and dependents
  • 401(k) plans and employer-subsidized life insurance
  • Fully subsidized lunch and snacks at HQ-we eat and share stories together at the "long" table
  • Generous PTO and company-paid holidays, including one week over the winter break so everyone can recharge together
  • Voluntary pet insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity
  • Fully subsidized tax advisory services and education to help you understand your equity
  • Commuter benefits, including a up to $150 monthly commuter benefit
  • Lively, modern combined office and lab space where we rapidly iterate through design, build, and test phases
  • Fully equipped onsite gym and showers at headquarters

Pay Notice
Compensation for this position will be set based on the candidate's experience level and location. The posted salary band is applicable only to the San Francisco Bay Area and is subject to change.
This role requires on-site presence at our Brisbane, CA headquarters, for close collaboration with the other teams.
The pay range for this role is:
165,000 - 170,000 USD per year (Mytra, Inc.)
