Summary 

The Operation Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the transportation and logistics department. This role will involve working closely with other departments within the company, as well as external partners and suppliers, to ensure efficient and effective transportation and logistics processes are in place. 

 Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the transportation and logistics department's daily operations to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently 

  • Coordinate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer needs are met 

  • Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability 

  • Collaborate with external partners, such as carriers and suppliers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure reliable transportation services 

  • Monitor transportation and logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary 

  • Conduct regular audits of transportation and logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations 

  • Provide timely and accurate reports on transportation and logistics activities to management 

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation and logistics operations 

 Educational background / Work experience 

  • A bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. 

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management is required. Experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred. 

 Skills & Competencies 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and compliance 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines 

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • Certification in transportation and logistics, such as Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) 

  • Experience with transportation management software (TMS) 

 Language skills 

  • Fluent in English (oral and written) 

 Computer Literacy 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.  

  • Experience with transportation management software (TMS) is preferred.
